GTA Online's Summer Update Will Reportedly Include Skydiving & New Weapons

The next big update for GTA Online might arrive soon as more details were leaked recently.

July 14, 2022

A recent leak on the GTA Online Summer update reveals some new activities coming to the game as well as new weapons and additional vehicle slots.

According to a recent post on GTA Forums, a user called “alloc8or” shared some new information on the next GTA Online DLC, which was then shared online by TezFunz 2 on Twitter, who is a trustworthy insider for Rockstar-related news.

The new leak reveals that the game will feature brand new skydiving activities in Los Santos, which are part of a Skydive collectible. Moreover, the leaker claims that the DLC files include 26 new vehicle slots as well as two new weapons, one of which is a Tactical Rifle.

Last but not least, the leak vaguely points out an activity that could happen outside of San Andreas, but it doesn’t strongly confirm its existence. So, we can assume that the leaker is not 100% sure about it.

It’s been a while since rumors started to circulate around an upcoming DLC-size Summer update for GTA Online, and while it has not been confirmed officially, some trustworthy insiders such as TezFunz 2 believe that it will be available later in July 2022. To be accurate, TezFunz 2 claims that we should mark July 19 as the official release date for this huge update.

It’s yet to be seen whether this update will feature story-driven content similar to that of The Contract DLC or not, but you can expect big additions to the game, which are not what you usually get with the normal updates. Also, the new update eventually brings the next-gen enhancements to the PC version of GTA Online, though we haven’t heard it yet from any credible sources.

While expanding the world of GTA Online still continues, some recent reports suggest that Rockstar Games has actually canceled multiple remakes and remaster projects to focus on Grand Theft Auto 6.

Apparently, the disastrous launch of Grand Theft Auto The Trilogy The Definitive Edition was disappointing enough for the studio to stop pursuing more remasters. Some reports even suggest that Rockstar might have even canceled the next-gen update of Red Dead Redemption 2 for the sake of Grand Theft Auto 6.
