MLB The Show 22 Update 12 Patch Notes & Maintenance Time (July 14)

Here comes a new update only five days after the latest patch.

July 14, 2022

MLB The Show 22 update 12 fixes a big issue with the Nintendo Switch handheld mode and adds a few new songs to the Jukebox.

It was less than a week ago that San Diego Studios released update 11 for MLB The Show 22, and today, there is a new patch to download, once again.

According to an official tweet by the developers, MLB The Show 22 servers will go down on July 14 at 4 am PT/7 am ET/11 am UTC/12 pm BST/1 pm CEST. The duration of downtime is unknown, unfortunately.

As the official patch notes reveal, the new update brings a few fixes to co-op mode as well as wiping out a serious issue in Nintendo Switch that would cause a crash when switching to the handheld mode in Home Run Derby.

Moreover, the update adds two new songs to the Jukebox and updates a number of All-Star players. You can check out the full details about MLB The Show 22 update 12 down below:

CO-OP:

  • Fixed a freeze that could occur when a user turns off their controller and closes the app.
  • Fixed a rare freeze that could occur when selecting options in user profile menus.

NINTENDO SWITCH:

  • Fixed a crash that could occur in Home Run Derby when switching out of handheld mode.

MISCELLANEOUS:

  • Added two new songs to the Jukebox: “Dollar $tore”, performed by Young The Giant, and “Run Ft. Young Thug”, Performed by Killer Mike. These songs will cycle randomly in the JukeBox.
  • Various player likeness updates to All-Star players: Jazz Chisholm, William Contreras, Adam Duvall, Santiago Espinal, Ty France, Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Spencer Strider, Dansby Swanson, Mike Trout, and Trea Turner.

To be honest, the co-op has not been a polished experience for many MLB The Show 22 players so far. Although the mode receives more bug fixes with every new update, it still doesn’t seem enough. That being said, we hope today’s update shakes things up for this mode.

Currently, San Diego Studios is hard at work supporting MLB The Show 22, and probably working on the next entry of the series. However, there are rumors pointing out a brand new non-sports IP from the studio.
