Best Anime Shows From 2010 To 2022

These anime shows are unmissable.

July 18, 2022

Tons and tons of anime are produced every year for every genre by different animation studios. Fans enjoy those anime and move on to another. But, at least one anime is released every year that the fans remember for eternity, and it feels like there won’t be another series coming in a thousand years that could match the level of that anime show.

We know you’re a true anime fan, and it’s highly unlikely that you missed any of the series on the list. But still, if there’s even a single series that you skipped, then we assure you that it’s worth every single second you spend on it. So, here’s our recommendation for the best anime shows released from 2010 to 2022.

DUALSHOCKERS VIDEO OF THE DAY

1. Angel Beats! (2010)

The series received its share of good and bad from the critics back when it was first aired. But usually, the show got a big thumbs up for its multiple elements like great animation, work on the small details, and obviously, its great story. However, only having 13 episodes was the series’ biggest flaw. It did not just keep us from enjoying more of Angel Beats! but it also leaves the backstory of multiple characters unexplored. The show revolves around a group of students who fight an overpowered girl with superpowers in an afterlife high school.

2. Hunter X Hunter (2011)

This show is the epitome of the shonen anime genre. The long list of 148 episodes might seem like a lot, but once you start watching it, there’s no turning back. In fact, even with so many episodes, there’s not a proper conclusion given to its story, which has the potential to annoy viewers. However, the manga of the series has too many chapters that can easily be covered if new episodes were to release. And interestingly, the long hiatus on the manga is also about to come to an end, as the writer Yoshihiro Togashi has begun working on new chapters.

3. Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure (2012)

The first Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure series came out in 2012, and the show is carrying its great name to this date with new releases. The show has a rating of 8.4 on IMDB, so it’s easy to conclude how well the fans received it. The new part of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean is coming out in September 2022, so it’s the best time to watch the previous parts of the series if you haven’t already. The show revolves around the adventures of the Joestar family, blessed with intense psychic powers.

4. Attack on Titan (2013)

It was 2013 when we got our first look at this legendary anime by Hajime Isayama. Wit Studio was given the work for the show’s animation, and they nailed it in every aspect. The statement that Attack on Titan (AOT) will remain one of the best anime shows of all time is easily believable. Currently, AOT has a total of 86 episodes, and the series is awaiting the third part of season four, which is set for release in 2023. Attack on Titan is set in a world where giant humanoid creatures called Titans eat humans. Eren Yeager and his comrades are resolved to cleanse the Titans from Earth.

5. The Seven Deadly Sins (2014)

The Seven Deadly Sins manga started its serialization in 2012 and after the fans started taking a liking to the series, it got its first anime season in 2014. The show has a hundred episodes in total, covering the complete 41 volumes of The Seven Deadly Sins. A group of warriors known as the Seven Deadly Sins is considered to be the strongest and cruellest group of the Holy Knights in the Kingdom of Liones. The group is alleged to turn against their own comrades, after which their quest starts to clear their name.

6. One Punch Man (2015)

This was the first time that the caped baldy made its debut on the screens and got a special place in our hearts. Saitama is not like the other anime characters who become drunk on their own power. He possesses unbelievable strength and is still the most humble anime character of all time. The only problem in Saitama’s life is that he can’t find a worthy enemy who can challenge him. With great animation, superb characters, intense fights, bits of comedy, and much more to cherish, One Punch Man is a complete package.

7. Mob Psycho (2016)

Mob Psycho gained more popularity than other great shows released in 2016, like 91 Days, Bungo Stray Dogs, and Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress. So, you can imagine how great this action comedy must be. It’s hard to believe that some anime aficionados haven’t watched the show, but if you haven’t, then you’re missing something really great. Mob is a middle school boy who holds immense psychic powers. He tries to live a normal life but constantly finds himself in trouble. The third season of the series will release in October this year.

8. Black Clover (2017)

More than 17 million copies in circulation as of January 2022, ranked among the top 100 best anime of the 2010s, the most watched show on Crunchyroll in 2020, and tons of awards prove Black Clover’s greatness. Currently, the show has four seasons with 170 episodes in total. There’s no news regarding Black Clover season 5, but a movie will be out in 2023. If you’re also into Black Clover manga, the great news is that the 3-month hiatus announced after chapter 331 is about to end, and the new chapter will release on July 31st, 2022.

9. Violet Evergarden (2018)

Violet Evergarden only has 13 episodes in total, but it feels like the creators have utilized every single second of the series’ runtime to the fullest. The animation of the series is just remarkable. It won the best animation award in the 2019 Crunchyroll Anime Awards. The show is about Violet Evergarden, a young ex-soldier who takes the job at the writer’s agency after the great war is over. Her work is to ink down people’s thoughts and feelings onto paper which leads her to her own self-discovery.

10. Demon Slayer (2019)

There’s not a single reason why anyone would hate Demon Slayer. It has a great storyline, animation, soundtrack, and character development that will take you through a perfect journey. After watching the first season of the series, fans eagerly awaited the show’s renewal. Ufotable took time creating the second season, but what they delivered was out of this world. Especially the Entertainment District Arc of Demon Slayer. This arc’s animation far surpassed every single anime created to date.

11. Jujutsu Kaisen (2020)

Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen run kind of on the same line, a bunch of experts defeating demons of different levels. But still, there’s a lot more that separates the two shows. With more than 65 million copies in circulation, JJK is one of the best-selling manga of all time. Currently, the show has one season with 24 episodes in total, and the fans desperately await the second season scheduled to be released next year. There’s no match to the action scenes beautifully displayed in the series. But what makes it even greater is the little pieces of comedy added to lighten the mood.

12. Tokyo Revengers (2021)

A lot of superb anime was released in 2021, but Tokyo Revengers still paved its way as the best one. Tokyo Revengers manga already had a huge fan base, but the series achieved substantial recognition after its anime adaptation. The second season of the series was greenlit back in 2021, but it was just recently that the show received January 2023 release window. Hanagaki Takemichi lives an unhappy life, and right after an incident, he finds himself returned to the past. Now he needs to make his life better for himself and the ones he cares about.

13. Spy X Family (2022)

2022 has yet to see a handful of stunning anime shows set to release in its later months. But to date, Spy X Family is easily the best of this year’s crop. We hardly get an anime based on espionage and undercover missions, and that’s what makes Spy X Family stand out from the crowd. The series follows the life of undercover agent Loid, who is working on a secret mission. As a part of his job, Loid created a fake family with Yor Forger as his wife and Anya Forger as her child. Together they go on various adventures while having secrets of their own.
