Earlier this week, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced a set of new draft regulations with potentially severe negative consequences for international students who already face many challenges as a result of the pandemic. These changes to the Student and Exchange Visitor Program, which are directed at non-immigrant students on F-1 and M-1 visas for academic and vocational study, are misguided, mean spirited, and contemptible.
