How To Get To The Golden Apple Archipelago In Genshin Impact 2.8

Here’s our guide to help you go to the Golden Apple Archipelago in Genshin Impact, which is also how you unlock the main event of 2.8: Summertime Odyssey.

This is the same additional map that was first introduced in Genshin Impact 1.7, where the summer swimsuit outfits for Jeanbara got released. However, even veteran players who already unlocked the Golden Apple Archipelago back then will have to unlock it again in Version 2.8. You just need to follow pretty simple steps and trigger a bunch of cutscenes though, so don’t worry.

Unlocking The Golden Apple Archipelago And Summertime Odyssey In Genshin Impact 2.8

• You need to be at Adventurer Rank (AR) 32 or above
• Clear the Archon Quest “Chapter II: Prologue – Autumn Winds, Scarlet Leaves” (Already cleared if you’ve been to Inazuma)
• Complete Mona’s Story Quest “Astrolabos Chapter: Act I – Beyond This World’s Stars”
• Make sure to speak to the Katherine in Mondstadt, not to the ones in Liyue or Inazuma.
• This will trigger the quest “The Golden Apple Vacation Returns!” and Navigation for it will automatically activate
• Go meet Fischl and Mona at the Mondstadt plaza shown through Navigation for the first series of dialogue cutscenes
• Go to Angel’s Share tavern shown through Navigation for more cutscenes with Xinyan, Kazuha, and Venti
• You’ll have to go to the tavern’s second floor to speak with Venti in private
• Once all the cutscenes are over, you’ll have to wait till 8 AM-10 AM on the next day, so open the Paimon menu and click on the clock in the left column to adjust the current time
• Go meet with Fischl, Mona, Xinyan and Kazuha at Mondstadt’s main entrance
• Cross the Mondstadt stone bridge (where Timmie is) to reach the “Dodofortress”, a vehicle Alice prepared to bring you to the summer islands

After the final cutscene, you’ll now be on the Golden Apple Archipelago. Now that you’ve been there once, you will be able to teleport back there anytime via the region navigation menu. You can access this menu by clicking on your current location at the bottom right of the map screen. All of the areas you’ve unlocked will be listed, alongside the Serenitea Pot (if you’ve unlocked it).

The Summer Islands Map In Genshin Is Not Permanent

Just like in Version 1.7, once this version ends, the Golden Island Archipelago map will not be accessible anymore. Version 2.8 will end on August 23, 2022. Until then, make sure to prioritize the event and exploring the summer islands to get all its treasure chests and Primogems.
