Pokemon Go July Spotlight Hour Machop Shiny Status, Bonuses & More

Pokemon Go is all set to give players a Fighting Pokemon in this week’s Spotlight Hour, along with some exciting bonuses and rewards.

For the second Spotlight Hour of July 2022, we have Machop as the featured Pokemon. If you are an avid player, you might be well aware of the fact that the event kicks off at 6 pm local time and will be lasting until 7 pm local time. Niantic organizes these events at the local time so it is much easier for players to keep track of the schedule. For the hour the event lasts, players will be seeing more of Machop in the wild. If you are looking for some Machop candies for evolving Machop, or don’t have the Pokemon, you should seize this opportunity and make the most of this event.

When it comes to the bonus for this event, players will be getting twice the amount of candies they get while catching Pokemon. This bonus is not just restricted to Machop, meaning that you will still get twice the amount irrespective of whichever Pokemon you are catching. If you want to go on a candy collection spree, you can use Pinap Berries to further increase the number of candies you get. Tossing a Pinap Berry will double the amount as well, which means you will get four times the amount of candies you usually get.

Last but not the least, one might be wondering about the Shiny status of Machop in the game. Well, a shiny Machop does indeed exist in Pokemon Go, so it is a pretty good time to go on a shiny hunt. It is quite easy to distinguish a shiny Machop from a regular one, as it has a green appearance as compared to the blue appearance of the regular one. Shiny rates aren’t boosted as usual, but your odds should still increase with the increased spawn rate.
