Genshin Impact 2.8 Livestream: Start Time And How To Watch

The next Genshin Impact livestream will have HoYoverse officially reveal the release date for Shikanoin Heizou, and all version 2.8 content.

July 1, 2022

Shanghai-based developer HoYoverse announced on June 30th, 2022, that it will be holding another livestream for its open-world JRPG, Genshin Impact. The stream will focus on Version 2.8, Summer Fantasia, but judging from past patterns, it should also include a sneak peek of Version 3.0 and its new Sumeru region as well.

Needless to say, active members of the Genshin Impact community know that most of the details from Version 2.8 have already been leaked. In fact, many screenshots and characters from Version 3.0 or beyond have been leaked as well these past few days. These leaks happened before the “usual” leaks and aren’t from the usual sources: data miners digging into the Beta Test’s client.

DUALSHOCKERS VIDEO OF THE DAY

Instead, this time, the situation is similar to what happened back when the Genshin Impact Version 1.5 (the Eula&Yan Fei patch) devkit as a whole got leaked, or what happened with Honkai: Star Rail soon after its initial reveal (leaks obtained via hacking). This is why many members of the Genshin leaks community, including the hard-working folks at WFP, have avoided resharing these Version 3.0+ leaks, fearing DMCA claims from HoYoverse.

At the end of the day though, the livestream is the sole way we will get official details regarding the gacha banners and content coming in Version 2.8 and beyond. So it’s definitely worth watching even if you’ve been keeping up with leaks.

Genshin Impact Version 2.8 Livestream Start Time & Date

The Genshin Impact Version 2.8 Special Program livestream will start on Saturday July 2nd, at 5AM PT / 8AM ET / 1PM BST. Click here for a countdown alongside even more time zones.

How To Watch The Next Genshin Impact Stream

As usual, the English stream will be held on the Genshin Impact Twitch channel. The Chinese version of the stream will be held simultaneously on Bilibili, and will be officially translated to Japanese on Twitter. I personally also recommend checking out WFP’s live translation of the Chinese stream.

Last but not least, note that the Genshin Impact Twitch channel has no VODs, so if you end up missing the stream, you’ll have to watch it via YouTube. The stream will be rebroadcast on Genshin Impact’s English YouTube channel 4 hours later, at 12 PM ET.

The stream will also feature new redeemable codes for free Primogems, which we will be sharing as soon as possible. As Space Channel 5’s Ulala would say, stay tuned.
