Upcoming Parody Game Yet Another Fantasy Title Announced

From the creators of Rustler (Grand Theft Horse), comes another parody game...

July 12, 2022

Games Operators is publishing another parody game, Yet Another Fantasy Title. As the name suggests, this is the publishers’ take on the fantasy RPG subgenre.

Games Operators published Rustler (Grand Theft Horse) last year, a parody of classic Grand Theft Auto games. The game is played from a top-down perspective and is a wildly inaccurate medieval pop culture fusion extravaganza where you can, as the name suggests, steal horses.

Atomic Wolf will be the developer in charge of bringing Yet Another Fantasy Title to life. The Polish development studio is best known for the graphic novel style action-adventure game Liberated.

Yet Another Fantasy Title will also be played from a top-down perspective and is in the same parody vein as Rustler. The game will be a role-reversal of normal fantasy tropes, as you play as a rogue who instead of being used as fodder for a heroic character, instead goes on to carve their own path in a fantastical world.

The game will be “set in a generic magical universe” filled with characters and objects you’d expect to find in such a setting. There will be elves, dwarves, goblins and other fantasy races, as well as regular medieval weapons and useable magic.

The trailer, viewable above, circumvents normal fantasy tropes, such as the player character standing atop a bridge and telling a troll that he may not pass or the no-name rogue slaying the unicorn-riding chosen hero.

Yet Another Fantasy Title is currently available to wishlist on Steam. However, the release date is currently down as “when the ring is found” so in other words it’s undecided. The game will be released on PC but there is no news on whether it will be coming to other platforms as of yet.
