Bayonetta 3 Release Date Confirmed For This October
After almost 5 years of waiting, Bayonetta 3 finally has a release date
Bayonetta 3 finally has a release date, and it’s coming exclusively to the Nintendo Switch on October 28th, 2022. Nintendo confirmed the news via a brand new trailer, which showcased around 3 minutes of new gameplay footage, followed by the release date.
The last Bayonetta title was released back in 2014, and received critical acclaim from fans and reviewers. A Nintendo Switch version of Bayonetta 2 was then released in 2018, selling almost 400,000 copies in the first 9 months, according to a report from Nintendo.

Pre-orders for Bayonetta 3 are also live via the official Nintendo eShop page, with a price of $59.99 USD. Alongside the new trailer and release date, Nintendo also shared some fresh details on the upcoming sequel.
Players will be able to fight their way through the streets of Tokyo, the mountains of China, and various other locations in Bayonetta 3. Nintendo states that Bayonetta 3 is “an all-new, over-the-top climax action game for the Nintendo Switch”. The game will sport a wicked new ensemble and somehow familiar pigtails, the titular Umbra Witch must face a mysterious evil using her signature guns and time-slowing Witch Time ability. This time, invading man-made bioweapons called Homunculi find themselves in Bayonetta’s crosshairs.
Nintendo also confirmed the release of a ‘Trinity Masquerade Edition’, which will be available to purchase via select retailers on the My Nintendo Store. Fans can “get up close and personal with the beauties and beasts of Bayonetta 3 with a full-color 200-page art book, and display the whole Bayonetta trilogy with three reversible game cases, one for each title*, that combine to form stunning panoramic artwork”. Further details surrounding the Trinity Masquerade Edition will reportedly be shared in the future.
For fans of the original Bayonetta, a physical Nintendo Switch version will be launching on September 30th for $29.99 USD.
