DRX against T1 was a series where the challengers attempted to overthrow the League’s powerhouses before being promptly put back in their place. T1 continues to be a top contender for the Summer title. Faker, in particular, shined in the series against DRX.

The series started with T1 building up an old-style carry-focused composition with Draven, allowing him to carry the game with the help of Seraphine’s healing and shielding. However, before things got far enough for Draven to come online, the duo of Choi “Zeus” Woo-je and Mun “Oner” Hyeon-jun dominated the top side of the map, bringing T1 a large enough lead to end the game.

Keria’s champion pool can’t be targeted

Ryu “Keria” Min-seok, on the other side of the map, continued to use his diverse pool of off-meta pick in the series against DRX. This time the young star squeezed DRX with his impeccable Blitzcrank performance. Earlier in the league, he tried out Lee Sin support and made a remarkable contribution to mid-game skirmishes. His Blitzcrank was just as effective, forcing DRX into disadvantageous fights. T1 put an end to the opening match at 26 minutes with barely a fight being put up by their opponent.

The second game was not as one-sided. However, DRX should have banned several champions that were left open. For example, Oner feels more comfortable with Lee Sin than any other champion and it shows in his early game play. The draft phase was difficult for DRX, as T1 grabbed some of their favorite champions, like Azir and Pyke. However, DRX made a good start by going head-to-head with T1 before collapsing in the later stages of the game.

Faker took the driver’s seat, demolishing team fights by utilizing Azir’s area control ability to its maximum potential. As there was gold parity in the game, DRX was encouraged to take the fight to T1. However, Faker had something to say about DRX’s plans, putting an end to the series and completing another perfect week for T1.

KT Rolster secures first perfect week

KT Rolster changed the course of the playoff race with two vital wins over DRX and Kwangdong Freecs. The highly-touted roster finally started living up to expectations. However, KT’s work is far from finished. The team has to maintain this momentum to make playoffs. Kwangdong Freecs follow them close behind with a record of 4W-6L. The remaining three teams, Nongshim RedForce, Fredit BRION, and Hanwha Life Esports, are likely out of serious contention.

Gen.G is tied in first place with T1 after their dismantling of Fredit BRION. Gen.G will play against Hanwha Life next week in the next step on their journey to challenging T1 for supremacy. Their title rivals, on the other hand, will go up against Kwangdong Freecs and Fredit BRION as they hope to extend their winstreak.

Week 6 of LCK 2022 Summer begins July 20 with Fredit BRION against DRX.
